Zune Reviews

Microsoft has joined the portable multimedia player bandwagon by releasing the Zune player. Not surprisingly, it has since been the subject of mixed reviews. The Zune reviews flooding the Internet and print media have bordered on gushing to downright scathing. Indeed, its enough to confuse and overwhelm the average consumer. But how do you know if the Zune is as good – or as bad – as they say?

The Pros

A Washington Post Zune review by journalist Rob Pegoraro declared that the Zune is more pleasant to use than other iPod rivals. Understandably so. The Zune player boasts of crystal clear audio, fantastic QVGA video display, FM radio, up to 80GB capacity, track sharing, and dig this cutting-edge Wifi, the singular, defining feature that even the most scathing Zune reviews cant complain about.

In one of the more positive Zune reviews available, Jason Cross of Fox News wrote that asthetically, the Zune looks and feels great. Its soft finish makes you want to touch it and doesnt get as fingerprint-ridden as the iPod. Its easy to hold and control with just one hand.

With over six million and counting music files available, Zune music reviews have been kind, to say the least. The sound quality is superb, and Cross swears that the sound is slightly cleaner than the output from the latest iPods.

Zune movie reviews have also been promising. Though its the same resolution as the iPod (320×240), its half an inch bigger (a full 3 inches, instead of the iPods 2.5 inches) and is bright, sharp, and beautiful. Furthermore, it turns 90 degrees, which makes a big difference. By turning the Zune sideways, you get a 20 per cent bigger screen size, making videos and photos far more watchable.

Zune download reviews are raving about its Wifi capability. Engaging in Wifi allows you to transfer and receive music and pictures to and from other Zune players within a 30-foot radius. A song can be transferred in 15 seconds and can be played 3 times in 3 days before being prompted to purchase it from the Zune Marketplace. Cutting-edge Zune-compatible software from Zune Empire is also available to maximize your Zune experience.

The Cons

On the other side of the fence, Zune reviews have been less than enthusiastic. It has been unkindly labeled as Microsofts not-to-be-outdone, me-too! portable multimedia player. It is also noticeably bigger than the iPod and earlier Zune reviews accused it of being heavier. However, it has since been found that though a little taller, it weighs roughly the same as an 80GB iPod.

A product review could make or break anything, whether its a person or a product. But as the recipient of mixed Zune reviews, the Zune player is neither made nor broken yet. Indeed, though there was an onslaught of negative Zune reviews at the beginning, more and more positive ones are being made everyday. It was apparent that the initial Zune reviews were rushed and hell-bent on proving how it doesnt measure up to the iPod. Fortunately, the tide is turning. At the end of the day, the best Zune reviews still come from you.

Finding the best resource to get your Zune music downloads the easy way. Plug in crank up and jam out, watching everyone else pull their own hair out.

Your interested in getting all the downloads without the hassle, right? Your looking for the secret no one knows about, right? You want all the downloads the easy way.

The Hard Way First

The hard way to download music to your Zuneplayer is to purchase it from a web store. Examples are iTunes, Napster and others. Microsoft has also set a Zunemarketplace where there are more than 2 million soundtracks you can purchase and download. The prices ranges from $0.99 to $2.49 each. Do you know the average MP3 owner downloads 300 songs and 20 videos a year. When you calculate the figure up, it totals out around $500 bucks. WOW! Now that’s the hard way to get music downloads.

Shake The Habit – Explore Your Options

Enter the world outside Zune marketplace and explore the overwhelming benefits that are only steps away from you clicking a few buttons. Don’t limit yourself to just one way when there is always more. Grasp your fingers tightly around your mouse as your about to find out how to download Zune music the easy way!

Straight To The Source

Do you know there is a network with over 100 million MP3 / Zune music & movie downloads with people just like you downloading hit songs by popular artist such as; Akon, Eminen, 50Cent & Britney Spears going on right Now.

Would you like to know how they are doing it so you can too? There are several ways to going about it.

You can find popular sites such as izune access and use them to get your content. They are just one source, there are many. Example: Say you were shopping for a pair of hot new shoes, you could go to foot locker or Olympia sports or even a generic store like Shoe depot or something like that. All they are is a medium to the source. The same applies to getting content for your Zune. The only one issue is and just like as if you were shopping for shoes, some times the generic stores are dirty and not well maintained and you rather buy from footlocker because even though the shoes are the same the ones from foot locker seem to feel better and are completely worth paying the extra five bucks for the better service.

So when your looking for a Zune music download site to get your content go with the popular one’s. They are popular for a reason and usually that reason is because people like them better. How to find a popular Zune music download site the easy way.

Getting Picky

Find a review of course and mostly pick one you feel most comfortable with. Review’s are great because they do all the testing for you. Joining, signing up and paying membership costs, all that wonderful stuff that way you don’t have to.

Leaving you with all the latest and greatest results so you don’t ever lose out. They invest their own money so you don’t have to.

Now You Know

Now you know where to find your favorite Zune music downloads with out paying by the month to get them or even paying each time you want to download something. That’s right, you pay once which usually is between $20 – $40 bucks compared to paying $500 a year and if you were to ask around, that’s what you would call getting Zune music downloads the easy way.

So what are you waiting for? Go out there and get all that music you want and crank up the volume.

Zune is upon us, and if you weren’t aware of it you are among the few that the Microsoft marketing machine has missed. Run a Google search on the name, and the first six results listed are all websites – or more accurately, domain names – produced by Microsoft and containing their promotional material.

Zune is the Microsoft MP3 player, available on the market for just a few weeks now. It has a thirty gigabyte hard drive, a three inch square video LCD and costs two hundred and fifty bucks. There are a couple of features that the iPod doesn’t have: the Zune has some “preloaded” music on it from contemporary artists; it also has wireless transfer capability so that one Zune can ship music or photos to another Zune over a short distance. Overall, however, it’s fair to say that, in its current format, the Zune does not represent a significant improvement over the iPod, or a compelling reason to pick it up if you already have an iPod.

Microsoft would have you see it a little differently. They are casting the Zune player as the first in a series of products to be released under its Zune brand. “Designed around the principles of sharing, discovery and community, Zune will create new ways for consumers to connect and share entertainment experience…With Zune, we are not simply delivering a portable device, we are introducing a new platform that helps bring artists closer to their audiences and helps people find new music and develop new social connections.”

Along with the media player the Microsoft Zune music store has sprung to life and at the same price as the iPod music mart – ninety nine cents per. Currently, they have two million tunes available compared to Apple’s 3.2 million. Early Microsoft press releases hype song sales from labels “DTS, EMI Music’s Astralwerks Records and Virgin Records, Ninja Tune, Playlouderecordings, Quango Music Group, Sub Pop Records, and V2/Artemis Records.” Presumably some of that preloaded music comes from artists on these labels.

Much has been written about the recent deal signed by Microsoft and Universal Music Group. That agreement has Microsoft paying Universal $1 per Zune sold – and it is a landmark deal because it gives the music company a share in the sale of the hardware. Apparently Microsoft felt compelled to develop an inside arrangement with a major music company because of its late start in the business. For its part, Universal’s CEO says, “We felt that any business that’s built on the bedrock of music we should share in…”

Apple has no such arrangement in its contracts with recording companies; those are straight revenue sharing deals. There is a good deal of concern that this deal will presage a new degree of control by the music companies over hardware manufacturers, not to mention a fee structure.

According to Universal CEO Doug Morris: “We were very early in working with Steve (Jobs) on the launch of the iPod and he’s been a very good partner and done a lot for the industry…We have a current contract with him and at the end of that I’m sure we’ll negotiate.” Morris’ company accounts for nearly one in three CDs sold in the United States.

The notion behind this agreement is that music companies lose a lot of sales to digital piracy – through peer-to-peer sharing on the Internet and through simple transfer of music from one iPod to another. Indeed, one of the features on the Zune player is that any song transferred to it from another Zune will “expire” after three plays. That should pump up business for the Zune music store; however it also gives the Zune wireless feature a mercenary look.

I can just picture how this production meeting went. There are two versions of the Apple iPod sitting in the middle of the table. One plays music and the other music and video. What if we were to combine the features of these two iPods, a Palm Pilot, a cell phone, and a laptop computer? Dude, thats a great idea! When could it be ready for market? Soon. What did you say, Zoon? No, I said soon, but thats not a bad name for our product. Lets call it the Zune! And thus the Zune was borncoming this Christmas to an electronics store near you.

Ive got to tell you; at first I was very cynical about this device. I mean, why do a remake of an existing product that is already a market sensation? The answer to that question is, because the Zune has features on it that make it the coolest contraption to come along since, well the iPod. Heres a rundown of some of those features.

I know, we all already know that it plays music and videos. But did you know that the video display screen is 3 inches (44% larger than the iPods screen) with the capability of a 640×480 screen resolution? Thats bigger than Dick Tracys watch, and definitely bigger than your cell phone screen.

The Zune has 802.11 WiFi built right into it which will allow it to transfer data (only pictures and musicno video) between Zune devices, as well as making it netcast capable allowing you to podcast music or the spoken word to anyone on your wireless network.

It supports seven different media formats including H 264, MP3, WMA, WMV, MPEG4, JPEG, and AAC making it much more flexible than the iPod. It also comes with several audio and video files preloaded.

This device interfaces and synchronizes with the Xbox 360 and will allow Zune users to create a social network and interface with friends over Xbox Live.

The one bone I have to pick with Microsoft, is in regards to their choice to limit the number of times I can play a song once I download it from another device. To show the RIAA that they still want to be their girlfriend, Microsoft limits you to playing a song for three days or three plays (whichever comes first). If you want to fork over $79, then you are granted the privilege of downloading an unlimited number of songs (well, in the millions anyway). Or, you can pay a monthly subscription fee of $14.95 for whats called the Zune Pass. Of course its not yet clear to me that if I let that subscription lapse, what will happen to all those songs Ive already downloaded during the time I subscribed? Stay tuned for that one. I suspect were not going to like the answer.

But thats my only beef with the Zune. This is a cool tool. There are many add-ons in the works for this device, and with the potential and the versatility that it provides us; I think the Zune will be around for a long time. At $249.99, the price isnt bad either. Come Christmas, these are going to fly off the shelves.

Spyware and viruses are so common that you would be hard pressed to find anyone that isnt aware of them. Under the umbrella term Malware, these little programs have been causing trouble for computer users for many years, and they seem to get more powerful everyday. A new incarnation of malware is becoming very common as of late, and it involves using a virus or trojan horse to place a computer under the remote control of a hacker. The controlled computer is referred to as a zombie and it is used to commit various dastardly deeds without the knowledge of the computer owner.

Zombie computers are almost always attached to the Internet via a broadband connection such as DSL or Satellite Internet. This is important as spammers have found that by using zombie computers to send out their junk mail they can easily avoid detection. As of 2005 it was estimated that up to 80% of all spam was sent via zombie computers, and that number is on the rise.

The increase can be attributed to smarter hackers and better technology, but the real driving causes behind the increased zombie trend are better spam filters and anti-spam laws. According to Tom Spring at PC World Magazine, spammers are hiring virus writers and hackers to help them create armies of zombie PCs to send spam. This union of hackers and spammers has been beneficial to both parties in opening new revenue steams that are extremely difficult to shut down.

Gregg Mastoras, a senior security analyst at the security firm Sophos says, A new underground economy is evolving.” This new economy is for the most part illegal and to date impossible to stop completely.

As of late the Chinese hackers have thrown their hat into the game and have taken the zombie computer business to the next level. Senior Pentagon Advisor Paul Strassmann recently said, As of September 14th 2007 there were exactly 735,598 computers in the United States infested with Chinese zombies.

Large groups of zombie computers can be used to form a botnet or network of slave computers. This network can be used to send out millions of spam mails in a short period of time. Slave networks are also used to commit a DoS attack. DoS attacks, or Denial of Service, target a particular website and overwhelm the server with information requests until the server can no longer handle the load. These attacks or in no way secretive, and once discovered are easily shut down. There will be a period of time however when site traffic will be disrupted by the DoS attack. Larger more sophisticated networks such as those used by governments or large firms have defensive measures in place to prevent damage from a DoS attack.

Every 12 minutes, British workers between the ages of 16 and 24 suffer work-related injuries that can keep them out of work for up to three days. As young people enter the workforce, it is important that they understand that they are no longer in an environment mostly designed for their protection and safety. Some of the burden of Ergonomics falls into the lap of the workers themselves. This burden is particularly acute with the younger workers. Some would argue that they accidents occur with younger workers as opposed to older workers because they are acting in an immature manner or fooling around on the job. Often, however, these injuries occur because the workers in question lack the experience necessary to protect themselves from commonplace hazards often associated with the workplace.

Anyone new to a job has a higher likelihood of injury, regardless of whether they are considered a young worker or are older in age. Younger workers or even workers new to a job need to have the health and safety training that passes for common sense among those who are more used to the job and have been there longer. If young workers understand the risks inherent in their environment they will be more likely to try to protect themselves.

Younger workers are particularly susceptible to musculoskeletal injury because their musculoskeletal system is not yet fully formed and takes the stress in more readily than their older counterparts when they are involved in activities requiring repetitive movement with awkward limb positioning. In fact, most risks that are present for younger workers but not present for older workers come from the fact that the bodies of the younger employees have not yet developed fully and may not be as strong, limber and resilient as that of the fully mature adults who may serve as their colleagues or even do the same job. Furthermore, protective equipment is often designed for the adult frame and may not fit the younger worker adequately therefore causing more harm than good.

The European Agency for Health and Safety at Work has started a program called Safe Start, the launch of which will usher in a more dynamic and complete dedication to the safety of young people in the workplace. There will be periods of promotion once a year and the European Agency for Health and Safety at Work has guides and fact-sheets available should workplaces need further information regarding how to keep their young workers out of harms way.

Did you just start playing WoW or do you have a brand new character and want to learn how to make gold very quickly? This article is just for you! I feel it will help a lot of noobs to get started and even some people that just started playing on the brand new servers and wants to make gold quickly at the lower levels in the game!

Start as Skinner and a Herbalist or Miner for a while to gather resources. You may have to travel to a main town to learn these skills early – but its worth doing early.

Skinner as you will be killing many skinable mobs early on, and either Herbalist or Miner as the radar marker conflicts – you cant have both a Herbalist and Miner radar blip on. I have “toons” that are both Skinner, Herbalist and Skinner, Miner … I think the coin generated is a little better as a Miner (esp as you get occ. gem drops in ore placements), but if you choose a dark-elf as a race go herbalist as the starting area has no mining resources – there may be an equivalent horde race !

Collect 6 slot bags as quickly as possible … some will drop as loot, others can be bought from tailors … you can do a /who and /tell and offer to buy COD (cash on delivery) via the mail system so you Dont have to buy from an NPC vendor or go to an Auction House before you are ready.

Have a “mule” sitting in your factions Auction House Town (eg. Ironforge for Alliance) – create a character that is closest to the Auction House Town .. best a dwarf or gnome for easy access to Ironforge – Humans need to travel via Stormwind and the Underground tram system, Dark-Elves have to travel via foot for about 20 minutes through dangerous territory to get anywhere near Ironforge for the first time … place your character very near a mailbox that is not busy. There are two mailboxes near the Auction House in Ironforge – one is always crowded .. crowds = lag. Choose the one that is not busy for your log-in/log-out place. This mule you will post your stacks to for sale at the Auction House.

Keep notes of how much a stack of resources (light leather from skinning, copper ore from mining, silverleaf and peace blossom from herbalism) sell to an NPC vendor but Dont sell to the vendor.

Check the Auction House prices using the search facility and take note of the starting and buyout prices for the stacks of resources you are selling. Many items have a buy-out price upto 10-20 times the price an NPC vendor will buy from you. I personally set my prices as follows …. starting price 2x the NPC vendor buy value (around 1.5-2.5s per stack) and a buyout price 5-6 times the NPC buy value unless all the competitor sellers buyout prices are way above or below that, then I set my buyouts at just below theirs. A couple of hours work at toon level 6-8 will give you 3-4 stacks of light leather, 2-3 stacks of herbs, 1-2 stacks or metals bars (yep, smelt them for mining experience before selling them … if you are “grey” on smelting copper (ie no mining XP form it), sell the stacks of raw ore) and if you are working in an area of humanoids 1-2 stacks of linen cloth. Dont waste your linen on bandages (FirstAid) .. at least not yet.

Don’t waste bag storage space on grey usable items, ruined pelts, broken teeth etc. unless you are filling up an inventory for the run home. Keep green items for Auction House sale if your toon (or an alt) doesnt need them. Always set auctions for 24 hours and put a buyout price about 4-6x the value to an NPC vendor (again check the Auction House current prices so you Dont over or under value your items) … the buyout price allows impatient bidders a way of getting their items quickly – and your money faster.

Mail your major items to your mule for Auction House Placement, dump the rest of the garbage ontot he NPC vendor. Each stack will sell at Auction House for 5-10s per stack easily and up to 20s per stack if the demand is right, low level “green” items 5-10s each. My first (and still main) toon never got anywhere near this cash return so early (mage, miner engineer) … my current level 10 gatherer is getting 1g per 2 hours of game time (mixing it up with questing and general fun) …. a concentrated effort should nett close to 1g per hour – a huge return for a low level character . Dont choose your crafting profession too early … you can always drop one of your gathering professions for a crafting profession once your cash flow is good.

Buying unneeded items early eats money.
Buying unneeded skills early eats money.
Enchanting eats money ! Engineering eats money!
Leatherworking, Blacksmithing and Tailoring can feed an enchanter, make reasonably good money from auctioned items later.

Alchemy can be fun and provide a good range of buff and regen. potions for your own use, then sell once you get to craft the higher demand potions

Most people have some older train models in the attic whether they actually belonged to them a few years ago or whether they belonged to relatives that were alive before the 1950s dip in popularity. However, model railroads are well and truly back and more popular than ever. Adults and children alike love to build their own model railroads and there are millions of people all over the world that participate in this trend every day. If you are a beginner then it may be difficult to know where to start when it comes to building your own model railway and so model railroad layout kits may help you to get started.

You can build a model railroad to be as realistic to the actual landscape as you want. Most model railroad layout kits will actually include a locomotive and tracks for it as well as items that can be used for scenery, and this may include realistic vegetation or replicas of actual buildings. They generally have themes attached to them but you can find various model railroad layout kits to suit you. They can be on a small scale with very little in the way of content or they can contain an entire starter kit that you can then work on and upgrade whenever you like. The one disadvantage of these bigger model railroad layout kits is that they tend to be very expensive so you may want to start out small. For more info see http://www.modelrailroadshelp.com/Model_Railroad_Software/ on Model Railroad Software

You can get hold of model railroad layout kits form specialist stores as well as larger toy stores. The latter is obviously designed for children but is perfect for those inexperienced in the craft and provides a base to work off of.

The track is one of the most important things within the model railroad layout starter kit. Without the track, the scenery, structures and locomotive itself would be absolutely useless. In model railroad layout kits the tracks often come in pieces so you will have to put them together yourself and, depending on the manufacturer, this can be quite tricky to do. However, if you take the time and the effort to gather a little bit of patience, you will learn more from doing it yourself than if it were already put together for you.

There are three types of track in the model railroad layout kits that are available:

1. Continuous loop This track goes around in a continuous circle and is the most basic of tracks.

2. Out and back This track is formed in a pear type of shape and generally has a station in order to reverse it when necessary.

3. Point to point This is a straight track with a train going from one end to the other and back again.

Model railroad layout kits can really help you to get your model up and running. It may look good, but the value is much more than the aesthetics. It will have taught you how to get your very own railroad up and running and you cannot put a price on that!
